"A la découverte de Bruges"
Arnaud (32) - COURBEVOIE - 03/05/2012
Les ribs à volonté sont un délice accompagnés de leurs petites sauces !
La cuisine sur feu de bois est très agréable à l'oeil et encore plus pour les papilles :-)
Nous avons passé un très bon moment en famille !

"Cosy and warm!"
Amanda (43) - Southampton - 16/04/2012
We visited twice as it was a lovely atmosphere! the ribs are so tasty! The owner was really friendly and the rest of his staff. It is good for couples and familys. The chef who cooks your meat on the barbie does an excellent job and cooked to perfection! Good value compared to most restaurants in Bruges!! the beer is great! would go back!!

"Cosy out of the way bar/restaurant"
Verity (32) - London - 10/04/2012
Enjoyed a lovely meal here! The steak was really tasty and cooked perfectly. My partner had spare ribs which he said was one of the best he's ever had! It is a way away from the tourist centre which is a good thing and so it's probably better value than you would get elsewhere. They grill the food in the open fire in the restaurant so it's quite cosy and atmospheric.

"bad start"
MARK (50) - Manchester - 28/03/2012
Restaurant was not expecting us as they had not been notified by RestoBookings. However, the restaurant was not full, and a table was found. Otherwise the dining experience was excellent.

"Very good restaurant"
imad (29) - Paris - 12/03/2012
The food and the ambiance were very good! The quality was also great except maybe for the veggie pasta spaghetti which had a small amount sauce. However the New Museum shrimp scampi apetizers was exceptional and the steak was delicious!

"Great restaurant but expect slow service on a Saturday night!"
Natalie (27) - leeds - 06/03/2012
Just outside the main tourist area in Bruges but easily reached on foot. The staff were very welcoming and service started off well. We ordered the in't niew museum prawns, a steak and 'all you can eat' ribs. The food took a long time to come, but having read reviews this was expected. The prawns were amazing, I've never tasted anything like the sauce before and will probably try to recreate it! Another long wait for mains but we were not disappointed, the quality of food really was high. We did however have to go to the bar and ask for drinks and more ribs as we were round a corner and did feel a little neglected at times. Overall we had a great night, but dont expect a quick bite to eat!

"Nieuw Museum Excellent Food and Drink"
Martin (48) - Tealby - 01/03/2012
My wife and I spent yet another lovely afternoon at Nieuw Museum last week. This wonderful bar/bistro is always on our list when we visit Brugge. The food from the grill in our opinion,is the best of its type to be had in the city. Escargots from the chef and garlic prawns for a starter, followed by crown of lamb and the rack of ribs for mains. All this presented with frites, salad and a range of sauces. A good quality beer list and excellent family service tops it all off. This family certainly does it well!

Johan (44) - Cologne - 26/02/2012
If you want to eat like in ancient Times. Like the Flemish People ate and Sat together to Talk and have a Good Time, then you have to visit 'the New Museum '.
Friendly waiters, Good Food.. Only a Little pricely, but thats nothing Strange in belgium.
Definitely a go!

"A REALLY GREAT GASTRO PUB"
Richard (63) - Oxford - 16/02/2012
Not sure that they want to be seen as a gastro pub but that is what it is.
Fantastic food, great prices and a fantastic atmosphere. Went on our first night in Bruges and really loved it. Tried to go back again on 3rd night but it shuts on Wednesday.
Steaks and ribs cooked on open fire. Great beers too.

"Hidden Gem"
Jayne (38) - Leigh on Sea - 14/02/2012
We read internet recommendations before travelling to Bruges and picked this restaurant as a result of its popularity and excellent reviews. Lets get this straight, do not expect silverware and napkins...just an adorable little bistro filled with locals and lovely friendly staff...nothing too much trouble. The food was stunning...and the bill very good for the location. Our meals were cooked on a lovely open grill in front of us...my 8 year old ordered the snails and pronounced them 'delish' we cannot comment because she wouldn't share them with us!! Seek this place out if you want a family friendly, cosy place to eat a meal which will be a taste sensation!!

"Friendly & warm restaurant, great for meat lovers!"
Helen (28) - bruges - 01/02/2012
A lovely place recommended by the travel agent we booked our trip with. It was a little out of the tourist zone, about 10 mins walk from the market I would say, but it’s a nice walk along the canal.
The owner was welcoming, it’s definitely a busy Saturday night we went and luckily we had booked as we saw quite a few groups got turned away. The best part of this restaurant is its old fire/grill place for all the meat/fish barbecuing. It’s so warm and cosy to see the fire and the smell of the food was just amazing.
I had the Onglet which serves with onion cooked in chilli/spice oil was soooo flavoursome! The meat was perfectly cooked, it was rather chunky, nice and pink in the middle. It was just great. BF had all you can eat ribs which was also very tasty. They were so juicy with no additional sauce on (unlike the American style). He ended up finishing 3 racks and still wanting more but I thought it was a little embarrassing to ask for more haha.
They also serve a vast range of beer and their wine was lovely too.
I think this place is reasonably priced compare to other no as good restaurants we went to in Bruges (average main is around 20 Euro). In 't Nieuw Museum is definitely a must visit place.
At last but not least, I reckon everyone should give the garlic prawn a try, it was the best I had in Europe for sure!
